In recent days, the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Vietnam has witnessed many ups and downs. The fact that the number of positive cases increases daily and the virus evolves by environments is making disease control more difficult than before. Yet, Vietnamese border is still open for foreign experts to enter Vietnam in order to maintain their normal work in, but the requirements are much stricter than before.

Thailand is currently one of the few countries in the world reopening for visitors. One of the newest requirements for people entering Thailand is to have insurance on COVID-19 with the minimum coverage of USD100.000. In addition, foreigners need to obtain a valid certificate of entry (COE) and visa before entering this kingdom. 

From 15th February 2021, Decree 152 of the Government of Vietnam, which regulates issues related to work permits for foreigners, will officially take effect and will have some influence on foreign workers who have been and will be working in Vietnam.  Decree 152/2020/ND-CP regarding foreign workers working in Vietnam specifies the cases that the foreign worker is not required to be granted a work permit is effective from February 15, 2021. Pursuant to that, the following foreign workers are not required to be granted work permits

Beside Temporary Residence Card (TRC) for relatives of foreigners living in Vietnam, Department of Vietnam Immigration also issues the TRC for foreign wife/ husband/ child of Vietnamese citizens. With the Temporary Residence Card – Type: TT, he or she is able to live in the country up to 03 years. Procedure for apply this TRC is less complicated than the other (type: DN, ĐT, LĐ…). However, please take a note that Temporary Residence Cards will not be issued if the applicant’s passport is valid for less than one year, and the duration of the residence card will always be at least one month shorter than the duration of the holder’s passport.
