HOW TO OBTAIN VIETNAM VISA ON ARRIVAL FOR US CITIZENS

For some reasons, The US citizens is more prioritized than other countries in terms of Vietnam Visa both business and tourism purposes. Although as American citizen, you are forced to obtain Vietnam Visa, the validity of your tourist or business visa is up to one year with multiple entries. If you hold Vietnam Tourist Visa, your visa is valid about one year with the maximum stay of 90 days for each entry. To obtain Vietnam Visa, you can stay at home by submitting online applications instead of going to Vietnam Embassies or Consulates via Visa on Arrival. This service is recommended for most of American travellers due to cost-effective and saving time. Today, we will share with you the pros and cons of Visa on arrival in this post as below.



I. VISA ON ARRIVAL – ANOTHER WAY TO OBTAIN VIETNAM VISA FOR US CITIZENS

For some reasons, issuance of Visa is a must. For Business purpose, US citizens can stay up to one year, not required to exist during this given time. However, US passport’s holder has to exit Vietnam after 90 days since the entry day and then you can re-enter again for tourism purposes.

Although, there are three ways to obtain Vietnam Visa including:

► E-VISA

Visa on Arrival – issued by Vietnam Immigration Department, another way to get visa permission in Vietnam, is strongly recommended for those who come to Vietnam for travel purposes due to its cost-effective and saving time. Let us analyze such key points of this service.

III. PROCEDURE TO OBTAIN VIETNAM VISA ON ARRIVAL – US CITIZENS

If you would like to apply for Vietnam Visa on arrival, you have to go through 2 steps:

Step 1: Get Approval Letter (Pre-Visa) issued by the Ministry of Public Security in advance;

The required documents need to provide both the applicant and Vietnam’s sponsor company

  1. A notary certified copy of sponsor company’s business or investment or representative license in Vietnam, tax and stamp registration certificate;
  2. Visa application forms must be signed and sealed by a legal representative of the company;
  3. Scanning the applicant’s passport;
  4. Providing the proposed date of arrival (this is the date you want your visa to start from. The start date of the visa itself will be the day you arrive - you can enter Vietnam at a later date (up to your exit date) but not before that date, so be sure to take time zone differences into account);
  5. The place of picking up the visa at any Vietnam international airports: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, or Phu Quoc
  6. The visa duration is from 1 to 12 months with single or multiple entries

7. Time processing: 7 working days
 

The required documents need to provide both the US applicant and Vietnam’s sponsor company

  1. A scanned copy of the applicant’s passport;
  2. Providing the proposed date of arrival this is the date you want your visa to start from. The start date of the visa itself will be the day you arrive - you can enter Vietnam at a later date (up to your exit date) but not before that date, so be sure to take time zone differences into account);;
  3. Providing the place of picking up the visa;
  4. The visa duration for tourist visa is from 1 to 3 months with single or multiple entries (American citizens are able to arrange one-year visas);
  5. Time processing: 4 business days


Step 2: Pick up the business visa by themselves at the Vietnam’s international airports include:

♦ QHanoi

♦ Da Nang

♦ Nha Trang

Required documents for picking up the Business Visa or Tourist Visa on arrival

You are able to get your visa stamped at the embassy or the airport or border crossing, to do this you must submit the following documents:

  1. Applicant’s original passport must be valid for six months from your intended arrival date, and must have at least one blank visa page;
  2. 2 passport sized photographs (4x6 cm);
  3. The copy of visa approval letter;
  4. Complete the entry and exit application form;
  5. Fee:
  6. Business Visa: Visa stamping fee depending on the visa single or multiple entry and visa validity (USD25 for 1 and 3 month single, USD50 for 1 and 3 month multiple, USD95 for 6 month multiple and USD135 for 1 year multiple entry) must be paid in cash at the place of visa picking up
  7. Tourist Visa: Visa stamping fee depending on the visa single or multiple entry and visa validity ($25 for 1 and 3 month single, $50 for 1 and 3 month multiple, $95 for 6 month multiple and $135 for 1 year multiple entry) must be paid in cash at the place of visa picking up
