Compared to other ways to have a new visa, Moc Bai Visa run is still the most economical way. If you choose to exit and enter back by international flight then the flight cost will be much more expensive than bus cost to Moc Bai. NEWEST POLICY OF VIETNAM BORDER VISA RUN FOR VISA EXEMPTION ENTRY
Under the existing Law: If foreign national enter Vietnam by visa exemption, they will have to wait at least 30 days to enter back to Vietnam with visa exemption again.
Under the new law, taking effect from July 1st 2020: foreign nationals coming to Vietnam with visa exemption won’t need to wait 30 days to re-enter, they can enter Vietnam with visa exemption at anytime they want, without any limit.
VIETNAM BORDER VISA RUN - TOP THINGS FOREIGNERS NEED TO REMEMBER
1. Original passport with validity at least 06 months
2. Original of Visa approval letter
This is a difference compared with Visa on arrival because picking up visa at the airport only requires you the photocopy one. Thus, when receiving the original approval letter that allows you to enter and receive visa at Moc Bai, please keep it carefully. Otherwise, you might have to re-apply all over again.
3. Cross check list of countries eligible for getting Cambodia visa on arrival.
4. Bring US dollars to pay for visa fee of both countries.
5. Day of moving to Moc Bai and re-enter Vietnam must fit the time revealed on Visa approval letter. You can not enter Vietnam before the valid day of your visa.
For example: If your approval letter writes allowed entry date is May 10th, 2020 to August 10th, 2020, you can only enter on or after May 10th, 2020 (but it must be before August 10th, 2020). You cannot enter before May 10th, 2020.

IF DO BORDER VISA RUN, WHAT DO FOREIGNERS HAVE TO PREPARE TO GET VIETNAM VISA AT MOCBAI?
► Bring all required documents:
1. Original approval letter
2. Original passport
3. Fill in Exit and entry visa application form -> can be done at home to save time or at the Moc Bai border gate
4. Recent photos in 4x6cm
► Bring visa stamping fee:
Different from getting Visa on arrival (at Vietnam International airports) or getting visa at Vietnam Consulate, using Moc Bai Visa run service you will need to pay for 2 types of visa fee
1. Cambodia visa stamping fee (about USD35)
2. Vietnam visa stamping fee. According to the regulations of Ministry of Finance, this fee varies depending on your type of visa:
- 1 month or 3 months single entry: USD25
- 1 month or 3 months multiple entry: USD50
- 1 year multiple entry: USD135
=> For example: If you apply Vietnam visa for 1 month single entry, total stamping fee is USD60 (pleased be noted that it is not inclusive of service fee for approval letter and shared car to Mocbai service)
Note: You should bring more cash than expected when taking a Moc Bai visa run in case there are some extra expenses arising. From Ho Chi Minh City, you can take a bus, a cab or use the shared car service of Visa5s to Moc Bai border gate.
