WHO CAN OBTAIN VIETNAM TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD WITHOUT WORK PERMIT?

In general, to work and live in Vietnam legally in Vietnam, foreigners must successfully obtain the following necessary documents:

• Short-term Vietnam Business Visa
• Vietnam Work Permit
• Temporary Residence Card

Nonetheless, for those who do not have any work permit in Vietnam, they still have chances to obtain Vietnam Temporary Residence Card if they satisfy these requirements mentioned below:

1. Owner of a one-member limited liability company
2. Professionals, students, trainees working or studying in national programs and projects signed between the ministries and approved by the government
3. Relatives of a Vietnamese citizen or the granting Temporary Residence Card person such as father, mother, wife, husband, children under 18 years old
   
    

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR ISSUING VIETNAM TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD WITHOUT WORK PERMIT

For company’s owners, international students, and TRC holder planning to sponsor relatives to Vietnam, please prepare these documents

1. A notarized copy of legal entity profile of guaranteed bodies, organizations or enterprises which asked for the issuance of Temporary Residence Card, and depend on the specific cases, the following documents may be required:

• Certificate of investment;
• Certificate of business registration;
• License of representative office establishment;
• Subsidiary companies (including written notice of activity);
• Seal registration certificate;
• Tax code registration certificate (if any)

2. A written request for temporary residence card (NA6 form);
3. Declaration of foreign applicant’s information (NA8 form);
4. Two passport-sized photographs (2cm x3cm);
5. The applicant’s original of passport;
6. A valid and suitable Vietnam’s visa (LĐ/DN);
7. Proof of residence registration by local police department 
    

For accompanying relatives, please provide

1. Relative’s original passport;
2. Two passport-sized photographs (2cm x3cm);
3. Family Relationship Certificates must be consular legalized and translated into Vietnamese. For example:

• Certificate of Marriage (Husband/Wife)
• Household Registration Book
• Certificate of Birth (Children/Parents)

4. The visa of relatives must be valid and TT visa;
5. Proof of residence registration certified by local police station.
