NEW UPDATES ON VIETNAM’S IMMIGRATION POLICIES FROM JULY 2020
In July 2020, the new Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam will take effect. This law mainly stipulates the matters of visa issuance, the change of visa entry purpose, the conditions of visa extension and renewal in Vietnam and the temporary residence granting as well as their procedures and requirements. Accordingly, some types of visa and Temporary Resident Card (TRC) shall be issued with new marks, LĐ visa divided into 2 categories as LĐ1 and LĐ2, especially Investment type (ĐT) replaced with ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, and ĐT4. Also, there are two visa types added: LS visa and EV visa. Moreover, new policies on immigration allow foreigners to change their visa without exit and re-enter Vietnam. However, only those who satisfy one of the following requirements are entitled to this.
