HOW TO APPLY MALAYSIA VISA FOR FOREIGNERS IN VIETNAM

Malaysia is a beautiful country located in the heart of Southeast Asia, a friendly attracting many international tourists. Famous places in Malaysia such as the Historic City of Malacca, the Pearl of the East Penang, the Paradise Island of Langkawi and modern entertainment areas are always crowded with tourists. Also, this is country with sustainable and stable economic growth, attracting many domestic and foreign investors, so the demand for Malaysia visas for traders is huge. Foreigners living and working in Vietnam who want to travel or work need to check whether they are eligible for Malaysia visa exemption? In case foreigners are not in the visa exemption, they need to prepare documents to apply for a Malaysian visa.

 

MALAYSIA VISA POLICY FOR FOREIGNERS

Citizens of countries that are exempt from Malaysia visa for 90 days

EU citizens (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, và Sweden), Saudi  Aribia, Egypt, Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Bahrain, Bosna-Hercegovina, Brasil, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Cuba, America, Iceland, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Liban, Liechtenstein, Maldives, Maroc, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Oman, Peru, Qatar, San Marino, South Africa, Korea, Sudan, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkemnistan, Australia, Uruguay, Yemen, Syria.  


Citizens of countries that are exempt from Malaysia visa for 30 days

Iran, Lybia and Macau Special Administrative Region Travel Permit

 

Citizens of countries that can obtain a Malaysia E-visa

Afghanistan, India, Angola, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Republic, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea – Bissau, Hong Kong (C.I/D.I), Ivory Coast, Kosovo, Liberia, Mali, Montenegro, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Serbia, Sri Lanka, China.

CONDITIONS FOR FOREIGNERS IN VIETNAM TO APPLY FOR MALAYSIA VISA

  1. Original passport (valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into Malaysia and have 2 blank pages for visa stamping)
  2. Vietnam visa (multiple times, symbol LĐ, DN, or ĐT)
  3. Temporary residence card or Work permit (if any)
  4. Letter to Consular Office (original confirmation letter from the Vietnamese company about the applicant’s identify, position, entry purpose, sent to the Consulate and requesting visa support for the applicant, with the company’s stamp;


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR MALAYSIA VISA FOR FOREIGNERS (PAPER SUBMISSION)
*** Applicable for paper submission at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City or Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi
*** Note: Foreign applicants need to present to apply visa and get results at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City or Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi

Documents prepared by the applicant:

  1. Original passport (valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into Malaysia and have 2 blank pages for visa stamping)
  2. Two (2) passport size photos of the applicant;
  3. Malaysia visa application form (signed by applicant);
  4. Temporary residence card or Vietnam visa (multiple times, symbol LĐ, DN, or ĐT)
  5. Work permit (if any);
  6. Round-trip airline tickets;
  7. Hotel booking.

► In case of applying for business/commercial visa, additional documents are required:

  1. Invitaion Letter from company in Malaysia;
  2. Business License of company in Malaysia;
  3. Business License of company in Vietnam;
  4. Decision letter on assigning employee on an oversea business trip (original);
  5. Labor contract (original) or Letter to Consular Office (original confirmation letter from the Vietnamese company about the applicant’s identify, position, entry purpose, sent to the Consulate and requesting visa support for the applicant, with the company’s stamp).

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR MALAYSIA VISA FOR FOREIGNERS (ONLINE SUBMISSION)
► Documents prepared by the applicant:

  1. Original passport (valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into Malaysia and have 2 blank pages);
  2. One (1) 3.5x5cm size photos of the applicant;
  3. Temporary residence card or Vietnam visa (multiple times, symbol LĐ, DN, or ĐT)
  4. Work permit (if any);
  5. Certificate of Covid Vaccine;
  6. Bank account statement – at least 60 million;
  7. Schedule of stay in Malaysia
  8. Round-trip airline tickets;
  9. Hotel booking.

 

► ​In case of applying for business/commercial visa, additional documents are required:

  1. Invitaion Letter from company in Malaysia;
  2. Business License of company in Malaysia;
  3. Business License of company in Vietnam;
  4. Decision on business trip (original);
  5. Labor contract (original) or Letter to Consular Office (original confirmation letter from the Vietnamese company about the applicant’s identify, position, entry purpose, sent to the Consulate and requesting visa support for the applicant, with the company’s stamp).
