Make sure the SIM is registered with your passport

You can apply at:

  • Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security)
  • Provincial Immigration Offices

They will:

  • Take a live photo
  • Scan your fingerprints
  • Submit your identity in the eID system

Processing time: Up to 3 working days (if biometric data already exists in system); otherwise up to 7 working days for first-time capture;

Result notification is sent via the SMS or email once the account is issued;

Once approved:

  • Your Level 2 account is created and linked to your Foreign ID
  • Download the VNeID app
  • Log in using your ID number and phone number

If you are the legal representative of a registered company in Vietnam:

  • Open the VNeID app
