Documents Provided by The Foreign Applicant

1. The applicant’s original passport (passport is valid for more than 2 years)
2. Two (02) passport-sized photographs 2cm x3cm
3. Short-term valid Visa Vietnam (TT)
4. Confirmation of residence in Vietnam certified by the Ward police
5. If spouse of Vietnamese citizen: Marriage Certificate (issued in Vietnam), If it is issued in other countries (Requires consular legalization & translated into Vietnamese);
6. If children of Vietnamese citizen: Birth Certificate

Documents provided from Vietnamese Citizen

1. Form NA7 - Application for sponsorship and temporary residence card for foreigners
2. NA8 form - Declaration of foreign applicant’s information
3. CT07 Form issued by the local police ward;
4. ID card of the Vietnamese citizen

Processing time

07 - 10 working days from the date of submission.

Step 1:

Prepare documents

Prepare documents as required, as instructed above.

Step 2:

Submission

After preparing a complete set of documents as required, you bring the documents to submit to the Immigration Department, the Ministry of Public Security, or the immigration management office of the police of the province or city where the foreigner resides.

The three main offices of the Immigration Department have the following addresses:

• If applying for a temporary residence card in Hanoi: No. 44-46 Tran Phu, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
• If applying for a temporary residence card in the city, Ho Chi Minh: No. 254 Nguyen Trai, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
• If applying for a temporary residence card in Da Nang: No. 7 Tran Quy Cap, Da Nang City.

After checking the documents, the Immigration Department sends a receipt to the person submitting the application (Form NB7).

Step 3:

Get a temporary residence card

On the appointment date according to the appointment letter, you bring your receipt, ID card, or passport to present to the officer to return the inspection and comparison results.
